A better way to manage product data for e-commerce
Whether you are planning to launch a webshop or already running one, product information quickly becomes a challenge. It is not just about having products online. It is about having the right information, in the right place, presented in a way that helps customers make a decision.
More product detail means more sales
Shopify gives you a powerful, ready-to-go online store. But filling it with rich, consistent product information across hundreds or thousands of SKUs is where many businesses struggle.
That is exactly where Perfion comes in. As a Product Information Management (PIM) system, Perfion becomes your single source of truth for everything related to your products: descriptions, specifications, images, documents, and more.
The Shopify Connector then pushes all of that information directly to your webshop, automatically and in real time.
The result? A webshop that is always complete, always current, and far more convincing to potential buyers.

he more products we present optimally in the webshop, the more we sell."
How it works
Perfion sits between your ERP and Shopify and connects the two.
-
Your ERP (for example Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or SAP Business One) holds prices, stock levels, and item data
-
Perfion manages all product content such as descriptions, specifications, images, and translations
-
Shopify presents the products and handles orders
Perfion already integrates with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and SAP Business One, so you are not starting from scratch.
Your existing data flows into Perfion, where it can be structured and improved before being published to Shopify.

What the connector takes care of
Once Perfion and Shopify are connected, a great deal happens behind the scenes, so you do not have to think about it.
Automatic synchronisation
Products and variants are kept in sync between Perfion and Shopify continuously. You can choose to run a full synchronisation that covers your entire catalogue, or a sync that only pushes products and variants that have changed since the last update, saving time and effort on large catalogues.
Images and media
Product images and other media assets stored in Perfion are published to Shopify as part of the sync. If you ever need to pause image updates, for example, during a large catalogue restructure, you can do so without interrupting the rest of your product data flow.
Categories and product structure
Your product categories in Perfion are synchronised to the Shopify collections alongside the products themselves. You control whether new categories are added automatically, existing ones updated, or discontinued ones removed, giving you precise control over how your catalogue is presented.
Multi-language support
Selling in more than one market? Perfion handles multiple languages natively, and the connector maps each language to the right locale in Shopify. You define a default language and add as many translations as your markets require, all managed from one place.
Flexible pricing rules
Prices are normally managed in your ERP and flow through to Shopify. For situations where a third-party system is also updating products, you can configure the connector to only set prices when a product is first created, leaving subsequent price changes untouched.
Inventory across multiple locations
If your business operates from more than one warehouse or fulfilment location, the connector supports Shopify's multi-location inventory system. Stock levels per location are mapped from your ERP through Perfion to Shopify, keeping availability accurate wherever your customers are shopping.
Rich product attributes
Shopify's metafields let you display extra product information beyond the standard fields, things like technical specifications, certifications, or packaging details. Perfion maps your product attributes to these fields in Shopify, so that additional depth appears exactly where you want it.
Scheduled on your terms
You decide when synchronisation happens. Set it to run every hour, every night at a specific time, or on a custom schedule. Delta and full syncs can each have their own schedule, so routine updates happen quietly in the background without any manual involvement.
Why it works
Every product information in Perfion, it is reused directly in your webshop, no copy-pasting, no double entry. One source of truth means your team spends less time chasing data and more time on work that actually moves the business forward. ERP, PIM, and webshop talk to each other seamlessly, with data flowing in both directions so your systems never fall out of step.
And because both Shopify and Perfion are focused on delivering user-friendly, plug-and-play standard solutions, you get strong value without unnecessary complexity.
